Day 13 - Wine Valley Golf Club (Walla Walla)

Image
Nice lazy start to the day today. Breakfast downstairs then headed 15 mins down the road to play golf at Wine Valley GC. Bag drop - 1/2 wine barrels Pro shop & clubhouse Greeted by a very nice Gentleman who gave us some tips and also a course guide. I just love the logo - a corkscrew with a golf flag - very clever It was a links course with some deep bunkers and undulating greens - a little like RQ. Hard to even see a golf course from the drive in and yet once you are on the course it was in great condition, lush fairways and well maintained greens and bunkers. It was very windy today but not cold - 27 degree's by the end of the round. Perfect for me as I love the wind. I played well - 21 points on the front, finished with 36 points. Sean is struggling with Golfers Elbow at the moment so he played off a more forward tee and didn't hit full shots.  A very enjoyable course, and as usual the pictures don't really do it justice 😖 We stopped at one of our favourite shops o...

Day 12 - Gamble Sands to Walla Walla

Another fantastic day. Breakfast and on the road fairly early. Quite heavy rain showers and lots of lightening on the way to Brewster for our game at Gamble Sands. There were lots of lakes and dams and along side were acres and acres of apple and cherry orchards. The golf course was elevated with the lake on one side and the other was more like a lunar landscape - bare mountains, no trees, lots of rocks.... and in the middle of it all where the bright green fairways of the course. Reminded us of Wolf Creek outside of Las Vegas. Cart only, very hilly and long walks from greens to tees. Sean had a quick practice and then we teed off. The rain had stopped and it got warmer as the day went on - about 25 degree's. The first few holes headed towards the lake The course then winds its way into the mountain area, unfortunately the pictures don't really do it justice but it was very scen...
