We woke to an unexpected thunder storm. Left Portland early and headed north towards Tacoma (the turn off for Gold Mountain). It actually poured rain for about 2 hours, absolutely threw it down. Sean did so well to maintain concentration as there are soooooooo many trucks on the road.
The leaves are just starting to turn, in a few weeks it is going to be so pretty over here. Once over the bridge out of Portland we were in Washington State (our 3rd State since arrival).

We arrived at Gold Mountain, got out of the car and the rain stopped, the sun came out and finally my hay fever settled (rain must have settled the pollen). 27-28 degree's and perfect for golf. We played the Olympic Course. We were paired up with a lovely couple from South Carolina - they ended up playing Ambrose because neither was particularly good 😂
The scenery was spectacular, elevated tee's, pine tree lined fairways, just lovely. This course was recommended to us by Chris Gibson at RQ - very glad we took his advice.

I played well - had 34 points - and the best part - NO BACK PAIN - finally. I am so happy to have played all 18 and not be suffering afterwards. Sean had 29 points but played quite well.
We drove to Seattle (about 1.5hrs). Great views of the city driving in

Lovely hotel suite with kitchen and lounge area as we are here for 3 nights. Couldn't find anywhere we felt like eating so we got some food at the supermarket and heated it up in our room. 2 days to explore and enjoy Seattle.
