Day 9 - Seattle Sightseeing
A nice leisurely start to the day, We went downstairs for our buffet included breakfast then headed a few km's down the hill to the Space Needle to begin our sightseeing tour. Beautiful warm day - 28 degree's.
We bought our tickets, had to wait 30 mins until we could join the queue (allotted times), just as we joined the queue one of the attendants came out and said they were not checking times on tickets today as the air quality was too bad from the bushfires and it was unsafe for them to be outside!! Consequently the queue became massive, luckily behind us. We didn't think it was anywhere near as bad as earlier in the week, but we don't make the rules!
They snake you around to get in and the history of the building is there to read, amazing that the whole thing was built in 1 year (1961) in preparation for the World Fair. Got to the superfast lift and up we went....

Seattle has been a delight so far, it is clean and well thought out. We feel safe here, unlike San Francisco and Portland. Yes, there are the homeless and the drug addicted, but they are not as "in your face" like in the other cities. 2 big Norwegian Cruise ships in today, lots of tourists.

We walked down 1 flight to the lower deck which used to be the revolving restaurant. It still revolves (with a 1 horsepower motor so that the movement doesn't cause a ripple in your martini!!). The outer floor is glass so you can see straight down - a weird sensation to look down and be moving 😎
We stopped for a drink and a short break then headed into the Chihuly and Glass Garden exhibition. Amazing talent, the first part is all inside - such amazing colours and huge structures all blown from glass.

We then went outside to a garden where the art work is integrated amongst the plants, just beautiful
Headed back to the car. Tried to go to the Pike Markets but it was insane down in that area. 2 cruise ships in port made it extra busy. We headed out of the city - had to make a quick stop at Target and saw that the trolleys get slotted into their own escalator in the middle - very clever
Back to the hotel, did a load of washing, watched some golf, Sean booked the next few hotels and golf courses then we headed out for dinner. Went to a fantastic restaurant called SWeL (Shit we like). This is from the bottom of the menu
Delicious meal, Sean had pork and I had Salmon - sitting outside as it was still mid 20's - PERFECT 😍
Off to the Baseball tomorrow ⚾
